• Born Clontarf, Dublin.
• Member of the Oscar Whifney Quartet in
Dublin, later known as Portrait, which beget Elmer Fudd – one of the most
popular home grown superbands of the 60’s
• Joined Donovan’s band late
60’s and toured the world
• Joined the Gary Moore band in 1974
• At
Donovan’s request rejoined Donovan’s world tour
• Re-located to L.A
during the 70’s and played in all the major studios with major artists (see
Discography)
• Teamed up with Lee Clayton who signed to Capitol Records.
Recorded four albums with Lee creating a new critically acclaimed sound known as
“Border Music”, a blend of celtic and country music.
• Re-located to
Nashville during the 80’s and recorded over 2,500 songs with major artists (see
Discography) and his own albums (see discography)
• Co-wrote Crystal
Gayle’s no 1 hit song “Troubled Times”.
• Re-located to Dublin during the
90’s and continued to record with major artists and record his own albums (see
Discography)
• Composed film scores for “Come The Spring”, “Hobo”, the
award winning “Dust On The Bible”, and John T Davis’s last production “Uncle
Jack”
• Produced the following albums in Ireland: Nashville based Lee
Clayton’s 5th album, Townes Van Zant’s 15th and last album in Ireland, “Children
Of Lir” for Brian O’Reilly and albums for Daithi Rua, Sean Hegarty, Deirdre
Cunningham, Norman Morrissey, Chris Meehan and Mick Hanly.
• Musical
Director and Technical Advisor for the hugely successful television series “The
Session” which was broadcast in the US and won the Ace award for best live music
production in the US. • Musical Director and Chief Organiser of the Brian
Keenan Concerts at the Point Depot, Dublin.
• Toured with various artists
including Clannad, John Prine, Nanci Griffith, The Everly Brothers, Hal Ketchum
and Rocky Burnett
• Played guitar for Roddy Doyle’s successful
television production “The Family & The Snapper”
• Writing new songs for
album to be recorded in Nashville, later this year. Gigging with new band “Foul
Play”.
